to me
hello family,

Okay this week has been super super good!  Seriously I feel like this time has literally been the best time of my mission.  I want to talk a little bit about Familia Sanchez.  Hermano Sanchez has had a super hard life, he has been in prision seven times he has been apart of robberies, drug trafficing and dealing, and many other things a few years ago he met Rosa and they have been living together and he dropped a lot of the things he was doing before and they started a little family together.  About 13 months ago the met the misioneros, and for about a year the misioneros have been working with them trying to help Hno stop drinking and doing a lot of things and to help them get married and baptized.  I have been working my life away trying to help them and after many days and hours of planning, praying, and fasting; after nights of lost sleep and many other things they are getting married and baptized!  This thursday they will get married and then saturday they will enter the waters of baptizm.  I honestly know that I was sent to this area for them.  I feel like I have done things here but I think my work, the reason President recieved revelation for me to be here was for the familia sanchez.  They are so ready and they have such a strong support with in the ward.  We were able to teach the Word of Wisdom, again, to Hno Sanchez but we taught it with the second councilor of the stake presidency.  It was such a powerful leason and they are so ready I am just so excited about them!  Not only that but the Barrio is getting so ecxited to do la obra misional!

When I first got here I was with Elder Gomez and we didnt really use the members like we should have, and then as he left I knew how much I lack as a missionary and how much I needed help so I relied heavily in the members to teach and to do other things and even more so with Elder Van Orman, and we have seen a growth in the trust that they have for us as well as an animation to share the gospel.  As well as that this saturday we ate lunch with bishop and he asked us to both give 15 minute talks in sacrament meating about la obra misional.  Being as he asked us saturday and we had a full day of work and then wake up and go get investigators and then go to church we didnt have time to plan anything.  My comp went first, and he did really well.  I was really proud of him and his ability to speak the spanish language.  He spoke for about 7 minutes.  I then knowing kind of what I wanted to say aproached the pulipit and gave a talk that I can in no way clame as mine,  though I said it I know that I was guided by the spirit.  I spoke of about 15 or 16 minutes and I spoke, like I dont know how to explain it, I didnt think about the words in spanish they just came out and the scriptures and quotes that I used all fit to gether nice and smoothly.  It was a very great experience.  Obviously the talk was no where near perfect and neither was my spanish but I can testify of the promis in the scriptures that we need to obtain the word and in the percies hour they will be given to us what we need to say.  I dont know I feel silly writing this but I dont know it was awesome!

As well as I wanted to tell you about Elder Diaz.  Elder Diaz is the best friend that I have had on the mission.  He is from Columbia and has had a different experience in his life for sure!  He is such an awesome guy!  He has a little bit more time then me in the mission and we both showed up to San Rafael together, as well as he has been my district leader for the past three and a half months.  I dont know how to explain him, he is about my hight and is pretty skinny, he is a really good missionary, loves to play fĂștbol, super funny, and just laid back like things dont ever bother him.  But anyways I have pretty much done everything with him with my time here, when ever we have activities or on pdays its like or two companionships are always together.  Haha he is like a super great friend to me I have promisied him that he can live with us in Arizona and that he can have pollys hand in marriage!  Haha but no, he is super great!  por ejemplo we live like a block away from eachother and he is like super obssed with cowboys so when ever we see eachtoher we always stop and have like gun draws and things like that but I dont know.  Haha and its a lot like Jordan in the since that we are like more open, haha like we talk about how handsom this one guy in my ward is and things like that.  The other day we were walking around in the Siesta, so there was no one outside, and we were talking and he stopped and told me that I was the best friend he has had in the mission and then I stopped and told him he was the best friend that I have had in the mission and then we hugged, like a good solid abrazo de oso! haha So in about 9 months a colombiano will show up and you need to give him room and board as well as pollys hand!  haha and he doesnt speak english.

Also this week we had transfers.  About a week ago I was in mendoza for a capacitation and the secretary of president asked me if I was ready to be his Hijo.  In the sence that he would train me in the offices.  I thought he was joking but it made me think for a little bit and then last night I got a phone call from him and he was just yelling into the phone that I was going to mendoza as the new secratery.  I am not sure exactly how I feel about that.  I know that it is a huge sign of trust from the President but I dont know, it will be a different experience and I am excited to try it, but I dont know I kind of want to be just a normal missionary too.  So I leave tonight on the bus and I have to leave early to start being trained and so I will be travaling solo.  I will get there tonight and then start working tomorrow.  I will be incharge of all of the travaling of all missionaries, and that includes the new ones comeing from the states and leaving to the states, I will be incharge of all passport situacions as well as mantaning a good relationship with the embasy and this mission so that we can continue bringing  missionaries to the mission,as well as schedualing meetings and things for president.  I will also get to drive the Truck! wooohoooooo! and my pinch and office have aire condicionado!  I dont know I am sad that I wont be here for the several baptizms this week but just like I knew the lord needed me here in San Rafael.  I need to be there for some reason or other and that is what I will do!  I love you all so much and hope all goes well!  Much love

Our 25th Wedding Anniversary January 7, 2014

25 Blessed years!!  Seriously, my life if good and feel so blessed to have
such a wonderful marriage.  The thing that makes this work is
that we both work it!  I never feel like I work harder in our marriage
than Scott.  We both work equally!

We went to church in Phoenix.

We wanted to go for a nice little hike.  So we went to Camel Back, and that was no
little hike.  It was big boulders and steep hills, and down right hard.  Very rewarding
though.

Over looking the Phoenician

That's a helicopter pad behind us, and as we were coming down, a helicopter landed there and
had to rescue a hiker.

Grandpa and Scott having a fun conversation.

Grandma Hiatt and Rebecca, I sure loved our visit.

The Blessing of Skype! Talking with DeWitt on Christmas

What a blessing Skype is!!  I was nervous that it might work out, but I honestly prayed and I know that the Lord hears the mother of missionary prayers, and a lot of help from Lillian our tech wizard, we got it to work right, and we also were so blessed to have Taylor and Allison join us on a group Skype.  It was 9:30 am for DeWitt, 5:30 am for us and 4:30 am for Taylor and Allison!  Boy do I love my family!

Brother and Sister Coronel take such good care of DeWitt.  DeWitt calls her, "his Argy Mama"  I'm so grateful for good people in Argentina that take care of my baby!!
