SpRiNg BrEaK!!!

Today is Monday, the first day of Spring break.  We have been working on a list of things to do during our vacation.  Fishing was high on the list.  So Monday morning we got up at 5:30am to go fishing at Cluff Ponds. I didn't realize the beauty we would see there.  It really was an Awesome sight.  When the breeze came to a complete stop, you could see the beautiful reflection in the water.  Lillian has way better pictures than me, but mine show it pretty good.

Mom and Lillian.  It was a bit cold
DeWitt's first catch.  He was so super excited.  He kept talking to the fish.

Scott and DeWitt
Oh Lil.
Beautiful!!

DeWitt has an old golfing bag and clubs that a neighbor gave him, so he thought it would be cool to hit golf balls off of the Mesa.  He was right, it was not only cool, but so very fun.  We loved this activity.  Notice Polly's ball is still there, but the dirt is flying.

Lillian ready to wack that ball.

Scott and DeWitt, had a contest who could hit their ball the farthest.  I couldn't believe how far they were hitting them.

Scott being funny, he was acting like he didn't know much about the sport of hitting golf balls off the Mesa.  Once the competition started, he really got into it.

The kids always make sure that I'm well taken care of.  DeWitt and Polly getting things all set up for me.

Typical Lil, taking pictures.  It was a very cold morning.

I've discovered that Polly loves the camera, and she loves to pose.

DeWitt watching one of his balls soar through the air.

We forgot ear plugs, so Scott is protecting Polly's ears.

Lillian, never goes too far without her camera bag.  She is actually a good shot with the gun too.

DeWitt, giving it a go at the "fanning method" "ouch" is what he said when he was done.

Beautiful.

DeWitt showing us his mad Western skills.

DeWitt getting serious.

Scott, DeWitt and Polly all wanted to go crawdad fishing.  So here they are with my pantyhose searching for a good catch.

Lillian, our resident photographer, wanted a day driving around and looking for cool places to take pictures, this is one place she chose, so I snaped a picture of her.

We had finished up one of our Spring Break fun days, and we were all tired and ready to relax!  DeWitt was still in a party mood and suggested that we make a fort.  The kids have all done this when they were little, but DeWitt wanted to do it "big boy" style.  We all worked together, and made this huge fort, and then we watched a funny movie.  We all had fun.

At Hale Theater, anxiously awaitng "Hello Dolly"

DeWitt goes to California!

DeWitt is in Taste of Sound, our High School choir group.  They got to travel to Hollywood CA, to perform at Disney Land and at the really Awesome Orpheum Theater.  They happened to travel with FAME which is my brother Joel's travel company, so that added a cooler aspect to the whole trip.

What a WONDERFUL Day!!!

Saturday March 12th my whole family got to be in the Gila Valley Arizona Temple.  What a joy and what a blessing.  I love my family and I am so grateful that they all desire righteousness.  I'm grateful that they each have their own testimonies.  I am grateful that we were all able to be in the temple together.  Dallin is the baptizer every Saturday morning, so we went during his shift.  He baptized each one of us including Scott, who hasn't been baptized since his youth.  He forgot that you hold your nose when you go backwards.  Scott is usually the one baptizing.  DeWitt went first and when Dallin was done with him, they gave each other a huge hug.  Oh my heart swelled with joy at the brotherly love.  Then Allison went, then Lillian, then Polly, which was her first time, then me and then Scott.  Dallin gave each of us a big hug.  All of the temple workers were sighing with tenderness.  We are just a very loving family.  My joy was so full on this Saturday.  I love days like this.

Favorite Vacation Continued>>>>

Photo journal of our vacation.

Our morning commute into the city with Shad

The Mall and the Lincoln Memorial

Shad made sure that we were well informed.  He always felt bad about leaving us.  He felt like a mother hen.
The White house
At the Washington Monument.  We didn't have the time to go to the top.
The whole gang at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial

At the feet of Abraham Lincoln...One of the Greats
Arlington National Cemetary
Arlington National Cemetary

The Mall looking back at the Capital Building.  Right above Polly's head is the Holecaust Muesuem.  We spent many hours there.
I think that this is the Korean War memorial.
We're back at the Washington Monument.  The kids are really standing upright, but it looks like they are laying down.
This is early in the morning at the Capital Building.
At the Capital
Oh the bushes at the Capital building sure come in handy when......nature calls.  As you can see you don't see Scott or Rebecca in the picture, so you can come to your own conclusion who is in the bush and who is taking the picture.
Love it!!!
Nice face DeWitt
Scott is showing the kids a map, and telling them where we are
Still walking........
We had to experience all of what DC had to offer.
This is after we went to the Holecaust Muesuem, and Scott is continueing with his "propaganda speech"
Inside the Lincoln Theater
Our third day we took a break and spent it at the park close to Esther's house
Fun at the park
Ahhhhh.  I love it
We had fun playing with the Browns
Polly
On our way to Gettysburg.  Bridger....."If you don't pull over right now, I'm going to barf"  We stopped immediatly.  I think all he wanted to do was throw rocks.  It was a good break.
It was windy and cold at Gettysburg
Gettysburg battlefield
From this high tower we could see all of the battlefields.  It was Amazing.
Just a cool picture
At the top of Little Round Top
It's inevitble...Lillian always falls while on vacation,  Scott is consoling her.
This is the coolest resturant.  It had all sorts of Civil War memoriablia, and pictures.
DeWitt never fails to entertain.  This is where Dallin got his Civil War sword.  It was a Confederate sword though.
