Summer Fun!! July 2011

Polly has been working on her personal progress and one of the things that she wanted to do was a family home evening lesson and service project.  So she gave us a wonderful lesson, and a scripture that was in Galatians 5:13, and then she had us all go to the Stake Center and clean up the pine needles that have littered the whole property.  It was  a lot of fun, and we all felt productive and helpful.  Good job Polly

Making things look nice and clean.

Lillian and DeWitt, a family that works together, stays together!!

Some of the other things that happen in an Evans summer is.......Homework?
Allison is taking a College Algebra summer class.  She works so hard at it and is maintaining an A average.  I am so proud of her.  Good job Al.

Our annual summer tennis camp.  We just got a few shots of the camp, but Lillian and Polly, and Allison have been very involved and have taught a few classes as well.  DeWitt is tossing Carson a ball.

DeWitt working with one of the classes, Carson in the front.

DeWitt and Polly

Polly and Lillian love to swim.

Lillian loves to bake, and she loves to try new recipes.  Scott loves to show her how to "pound" out the dough.  Polly the onlooker.

Lillian's finished product, French Bread

A look at Scott's summer project.  He is a happy man, when given an otter pop, a huge hat, and lots of dirt.

He framed up the footer, and he even thought of a new way to get the plumbing out the concrete wall, once it is dry.  He put a big pvc pipe in the frame before the concrete was poured so all the plumber had to do was to slip his pipes right through the pvc.  Boy did I marry smart. :-)

The girls have gotten creative in their free time.  They are working on fair projects right now.

Allison and Jacob Scott dressed up to see the last Harry Potter movie.  Allison colored Jacob's hair orange so he could be Ron.  They looked great and had a lot of fun.

Scott's project another step farther.  So there is his finished footer and now he has framed out the porch.

Scott is working on smoothing out all of the AB material so it will be ready for concrete.

That's my hard working "Spider Man"

Another on of Lillian's baking wonders.  A double Decker chocolate from scratch cake and frosting, it was delish!

I love it when Allison sits and plays the piano, it's beautiful.  DeWitt has been playing a lot this summer, he asks Allison questions, and then works it out for himself.  I'm just sorry I don't have a picture.

My boys snuggling.  What a great picture.

Ahhhh, ZUMBA, Allison and Rebecca love this place, we go everyday to dance ourselves into some serious sweat.  It is an AWESOME workout and just too much fun.

After our workout, so we're a bit sweaty.

DeWitt and Scott making our yard beautiful!

Thank you boys, it looks great!

Polly got an itch to wash cars, she had already washed the mustang.

24th of July Pioneer Celebration

We are waiting for the pioneer parade to start.  This year it is in Thatcher.  I'm always glad when it's anywhere but Safford.  Esther, Soren, Brody, Rebecca, Camille, and Grandma Sherry.

Lillian, Lindsay, Scott Grandma and Allison

Isabel, Marlie, Soren, Harrison, and Polly

Rachel, Brynlie, Rebecca, Camille, and Grandma

Scott and Damon McCrae.

After the parade, some of us went to the football stadium to eat yummy BBQ and visit, watch a show and fireworks.  DeWitt was right in his element.  Lots of girls.  There were some he knew and some he didn't.  So for the ones that he didn't know he told Lindsay (with a cast) to go over and hug the cute girl and DeWitt would go and get her and then a conversation would start.  Lindsay was a bit apprehensive, but was trying so hard to please DeWitt.  We all had a good laugh.

Carson was tickling Allison

DeWitt and his X-Men moves, ( I really think he was tired of me taking pictures)

Rebecca and Scott in the back.  It was such a pleasant evening.  I was so glad we were just hanging out.

Lillian and Polly, one of their favorite treats, kettle corn
Lillian and Polly.  They looked so cute at church today, so I tried to capture their cuteness, Polly had already changed.
This is Sunday.  DeWitt was asked to give two talks.  One in church about Pioneers and one at the general Priesthood meeting, that night.  He is a natural at the pulpit.  He works really hard on his talks and he practices, and he gives them to us first, and then when he gets to church he really does well, and he did.

A Doubles Tournament

Lillian and Polly the great Evans doubles team.  They dressed the same and even did their hair the same.

Lillian and Polly getting some good advice from the dada coach.

Allison and Rebecca watching the awesome tennis, and listening to some sweet tunes.  I was actually taking the picture, so we had to try and look normal.

They are writing down their scores.  In this type of tournament they play boys, and they play 6  games.  Well our girls won 3 games,  from these boys, so they were pretty excited.

Lillian on the right just finished her serve.

Lillian and Polly, taking a much needed water break

Polly just finished her serve, it's almost hard to tell them apart.

Our doubles team

Allison, Scott, Lillian, and Polly.  So happy to have done so well in this tournament.  They got 4th place.

Allison being happy for the Evans doubles team

Our celebration dinner, at our favorite restaurant.....Charleston's.  Sometime ask Allison about the paper she wrote about this place, it is very cool and involves vampires.

DeWitt and Lillian had both been school shopping, and they both got similar outfits.  They were excited and also that they would both be able to wear them to high school together, so we just had to take a picture.  Even the shoes.
