THE GREATES LOVE STORY EVER
TOLD
Dear Dallin,
This week it is DeWitt writing
the letter! As you have seen this letter is about "The Greatest Love Story
Ever Told!" It starts out with a young lad who was called to Argentina ! This
young lad was a hard worker anxious to go out to the mission field. He had a
wonderful family and a great love for the Gospel. He and is Brother were the
best of friends, "it was the best of times it was the worst of
times," haha just kidding I felt a quote from "A Tale of Two
Cities" seemed fitting. Nevertheless they were the best of friends. They
grew up singing "I hope they call me on a mission," dreaming of that
day when at last they would have grown a foot or two. Going to church and
practicing their missionary hand shakes on their bishop. Unbeknownst to the
both of them, that as they drempt of serving the Lord, as they prepared for
that fateful day they would be called "Elder", they never thought
they would serve in the same country in neighboring missions! Dallin, I'm going
to the Argentina , Mendoza mission! This is
truly the Greatest Love Story Ever Told! I would always reply when asked about
you that I loved you and I was very envious that the people of Argentina were
able to spend so much time with you. Now I get to serve the people that I've
prayed for so much! The love that I already had for the people of Argentina has
been increased in an indescribably way! We are, through the priesthood power,
going to baptize the entire country! You'll cover the bottom, Ill get the
middle, and well meet up to convert the top! I report the the MTC January 23! I
love you Dallin with all my heart, whenever something happens the very first
person I want to tell is you! It is hard being so far away from you, but I
wouldn't want it any other way. I cannot wait to serve the people you tell us
about every week! There are pictures in drop box of me opening the call.

No................... your
going to Mendoza .
Stetson is going to be your trainer. Just the other day I was telling my
companion that your call was going to arrive this week and that I was so
excited thinking hey mabe my little brother would come to my mission and I
would be able to train him in the end of my mission. Fua- Argentine for wow
that is crazy. Dewitt start now ¡ya! to learn spanish. ya ya ya. It will help
you so much with the little you can do already. Dewitt you are a capo- super
stud, and you are going to be put in many responsiblities, because you are
confident and want to work. You must have lots of self confience in your
abilities as a missionary. Obviously you have to be humble as well. I think
that is what I have lacked I have not had much self-confience in what I could
do, I have only been humble and that has permited me to be able to do many
things, o sea be a good sucsessful missionary. Dewitt you are going to have
such a great experience up there. It is beautiful, vine-yards, old Italian
architecture. Wow take a ton of pictures. Wow I am so excited for you. Dang it
your going to play a lot of soccer too, and then your going to be even better
then me, but its ok we will play on the same team. I have decided that I am
from Racing an Argentine soccer team. Here in Argentina you have to decide what
team your from or the people will keep bugging you untill you decide. I decided
that I was from Argentina
and I wasn´t going to choose until I realized that if I never decided mabe no
would give me a jursey. The most common are Boca and River, but don´t let me
influence you.
Dewitt this is an exciting time, you will be very excited. I am very excited for you. Keep being excited and never let it down. Be consistant in your enthusiasum. Freaken lucky Stetson is going to have you in his mission. I loveArgentina and you are going to
learn to love it as well. You will have many hard times in your mission, but
never let a hard day last more then a day, wake up to a new good day. You will
come home tired EVERY DAY, but learn to love to be tired. I love to come home
and be completley exahusted and lay down in my bed, wasted because I just can´t
do anything more. We just had a conference with Elder Zeballos and all of the
Southern Elders from Trelew our zone, with the zones Comodoro Rivadavia, and
Caleta Olivia (this is also what I love about the mission, we get personal
instruction from general authorities, infact that was my favorite part of the
MTC CCM-in argentine). He taught us very basic doctrine, but with a very
powerful impact. He shared DyC 4 with all your heart, might, mind and strength
with an eye single to the glory of god. Then he had us think what is our heart:
feelings, emotions..., might: physical strength, health, abilities..., mind:
capacity to think, learn, grow intelectually... strength: preserverance... and
then he said and what is left? We need to serve with all of our being.
Everything that we have. Our ability to speak spanish should constantly
becoming better, to better serve, our ability to teach, love, share, study the
scriptures... everything should become better. This is a gospel of progression,
and if we are not progressing something is wrong. If we are comfortable where
we are in the gospel, think again (jaja). It was such a great experience with
Elder Zeballos. His wife also talked with us, and exherted us to not be fome-
chilean for boring, weird, normal... (yes they are chileans). They are a couple
of hoots. I love it when the authorities talk to us the missionaries, because
as Dewitt will realize when they talk to the missionaries they drop the cain,
argentine for without holding back. For example when the talk to the
missionaries it is all lovely with roses, have faith, you can do it, endure to
the end... but when they talk to the missionaries: you need to be better, if
you don´t babtize why are you here on the mission, how many new investigators
have you found this week, you need to double that... it is great. Afterwerds I
wanted to talk with him because he was such a capo. So we took the picture and
while waiting I went to talk with him, and we talked for a good amount of time
with a group of Elders, then they all went away and he began to talk with just
me. We talked about what it is like to be a general athority, about how it was
to give his first general conference talk- Oct. 2009, sab. afternoon (I think),
about how he loves English and studies it every day, then I told him about my
family, what I studied, and that my brother was going to recive his mission
call that week. I even told him that I was hoping that he would come to Neuquen
so that I could end my mission training him. He wished you luck little one.
Wow.Mendoza ... that is pretty crazy my lad. Ok
momita, everything that I bought has worked out wonderfully, the only thing
that I would have changed, and will apply to Dewittcito as well as he will also
be in a pure WALKING mission, would be to buy two pairs of good walking shoes.
I don´t know if you remember, but I bought one to go to church and one for the
walking. I rarley use the churchy ones, only for the conferences, because
Domingos as well we walk and work. I couldn´t find your pictures in drop-box.
You will have to start reading the letters that I send to President in spanish
and practice translating them. The best things that you can do right now to
prepare are: magnify your calling, I heard that you are the first councilor
right now que tal he super stud; take seriously your home teaching assignments,
call them to repentance, or in other words help them be better; begin to study
Preach my Gospel- Predicad me Evangelio; and keep busy, enjoy your little time
that you have right now. It will come fast, don´t worry about having to wait,
because it will come, and it will go even faster as time goes by. Wow I am
still amazed, don´t worry about doing everything I tell you to do, they are
sugjestions no mas. You have your own experiences to win. We are going to be
Argentine Bothers. I will begin to write to you in spanish, castellano, now.
Con Amor el amado Eldercito Evans
p.s. there is a street here called Juan Evans. I tell everyone it is my street. We are going to Puerto Madyrn today to go see the whales, I say them last year when I was there, but my companion wants to see them. I want to go see my peeps, manily my converts in Puerto Madryn, but I am not sure if it is alowed with Pres. Lovell, with Pres. Petterson no it wasn´t, but it depends on what the Pres. says. Dewitt follow the Pres. rules and everything will be ok
