Hello my little family. How are the Americans doing?
It has been a good week in Trelew Argentina. Yes Carlos and Delia were interviewed on thursday, married on friday, babtized on saturday, and confermed on Sunday. A very eventful weekend for the Velasquez family. We also had interviews with President Lovell this week, and it just so happened that the day that Carlos and Delia had their interviews, we had ours with President Lovell, so they were able to see him. When Valentina entered the room, who is the seven year old daughter of Carlos and Delia, Sister Lovell´s eyes and mouth opened wide with enthusiasm and love, and they became instant best friends... and they lived happily ever after, just kidding, they continue in reality (hehe). Hna. Lovell didn´t understand anything that Valentina was saying, and Valentina didn´t understand anything that Hna. Lovell said, but they were still instent best friends. Hna. Lovell wiped out her I-pad and began showing her the photos of her family, and she managed to communicate, "nieta siete," which translated into an understandable reference would be, "this is my grand-daughter, she is also seven years old, just like you!" It was wonderful to see them again. It turned out wonderful the wedding, Delia was very nervous. They had practiced the "I do´s," and it turned out all very well. Then friday in the night the ward had a reception for them. They had made a cake, and decorated the gym, just like Delia was hoping for. Delia has fear of water, so it was a hard for her to get babtised, but she did it, and the Bishop, who babtized her, was very patient with her, and it all worked out in the end. Carlos is like a little kid in a candy shop, with the gospel, he wants to learn more, and more. He is really excited to recive the priesthood next week. Next week will also be the baptism of Alejandro Neculqueo, he went to church and stoped smoking and has thus qualified to be babtised. He as well is very excited to learn more. We have seen many mircales here in this area. Talking with my companion, we have realized that we have been very blessed, but it is not because of us. We haven´t done anything super special, or been the super stud missionaries, we have simply been in the right places at the right time. I am excited and want to learn how I can increase my faith, so that we can see even more miracles.
I enjoyed my time with President Petterson, but I never really got to know him well, one because I was never in a lidership position, and two, because he was very brisk and did not like to take little times to talk. It was all very rushed, the conferences, interviews... which was so that we could get out and work, which is good, but that means that we also worked tht way, or at least I feeling that that is how President wanted it, I ended up teaching, talking... all in the same manner, but I like Pres. Lovell he takes a little more time to listen and talk, which I apprichiate, and am grateful that I can now be the same, efficient, but in a relaxed manner. President asked us all in his interviews what we were doing to enjoy what we do NOW. It was obviously inspired from President Uchdorfs talk in the general conference, and was a good reminder to enjoy our stages of life, where we are when we are in them, because living life only to reach a goal is not a life lived, but a goal reached.
Que tal. Everyone went camping, and mom ran into a garage door. Its ok mom, I also cryed a little when I backed the van into the garage wall, but it wasn´t so funny in the moment either. I keep telling everyone who asks about me that my brother is going to Mendoza for his mission. I love to be proud of my little brother. This p-day we are going to rest a little as the week has worn us out. I have to go buy some shoes, as mine are spent, and then we are going to go to the apartment and rest a bit, but it is hard for me to rest, so I will most likely be writing letters and making some brownies. I made a chocolet-Argy-cake for breakfast this morning. I say Argy-cake, because it is different. It doesn´t have frosting, and is made with bannanas, or apples, or peaches in the middle. It is more like bread, with fruit in the middle. Sweet cake is very uncommon.
Well let this be a sufficent representation of my Argy-love for all Northern Americans, espcially all those who live, or have once live in Safford, the 16th Street, number 500.
