June 28, 2017 The Kelin Call
Lillian, polly and I were in Mesa staying at the condo. We were in Mesa, because Kelin and Lillian have been talking marriage and have talked round about dates in August. So the marriage is set the date isn't. Kelin wants to propose to lillian, but insists that he is a man and wants to shake her dad's hand, look him in the eye, as they sit across a nice steak dinner to ask his permission for his daughter's hand in marriage. She told him that it would be totally OK if he were to call her dad. She told him that Taylor had called and that Dallin and DeWitt called their father in laws. But still he told Lillian that wouldn't be good enough for him or her. She had no doubt of his love and that they surely would get married, but he couldn't do anything without first making that request in person. So they do not have a for sure date. Unbeknownst to Lillian, Kelin did indeed call Scott on June 27th. He not only called him but Facetimed him. Scott was very happy and impressed. I will have to have Scott write down what they talked about. So on the morning of June 28th Kelin had sent polly a text and asked her if it was a good time to call me. I got excited and said yes. So I took the call outside. I answered the phone happily, because I really like him and I'm so happy for all of this. He told me that he had Facetimed Scott last night and asked permission to marry our sweet daughter, but he also wanted to talk to me, which made me so happy!!! He went right into telling me that he was in love with Lillian and that he loved her so much. He said that she was perfect! He said that he has always been a little nervous about marriage and how he would find a good girl, but everything with Lillian has been too easy and comfortable with no anxiety at all. And that he just loves her and wants to marry her. I told him that it was my mama desire to have her completely loved and appreciated, and from what I could see, she was that. I told him that I could see how much she loves him and that I could see how much he loves her just from her reactions from hanging up the phone or when she was with him and when she is not with him and misses him so much!! I told him how happy I was and that he would fit perfectly into our family. He then started to tell me that he was going to propose on July 4th when Lillian was up in Cedar City. He has been working out all of the details with polly. He also said that he knows a guy in Las Vegas that is making a custom ring. I had to tease him for saying that "he knows a guy in Vegas". Haha it just sounds shady, but of course it's not. His dad is from there and this guy is their friend. He went onto tell me those things but I told him that I was just kidding
. He has been working with Polly when he was picking out the ring. Polly has loved it and has been so grateful. I was really happy for the call and told him so and I told him that I loved him and he said that he loved me too. Now poor Lillian has to wait until the 4th, but she isn't even expecting him to do anything until he sees Scott in person, so she'll actually be so happy and so surprised! My next entry will be on how it all went. Love is in the air!
