Queridos Familiares
How are you all doing (I am shure that this is not all spelt wrong, it is all underlined in read because its in English hehe). I hope that you are all well and safe, because I love you to much, but even more I hope to find you actively engaged in the gospel of the Lord. I learned this weekend about the difference between the Gospel of the Lord and the Church of Jesus Christ. It came as an answer to a prayer that I have had. There are so many invesigtors here who think that they don´t need to go to church, to any church. They have the bible and they just need to be good people and love everyone. After all that is what Jesus said, that the last and greatest commandment that he gave us was to love God and love your neighbor (vecino, I forgot how to spell it in english). There is a difference between this thought, which is the doctrine of christ or the gospel, and the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints. As E. Hollstrom said those who embrace the restored gospel of Jesus Christ will unite themselves with the community of saints in the Church. This is a fundamental process in the final point of the Gospel of Christ, which is the endure to the end. We watched General conference in the Church Stake center in Neuquen. Then we stayed the night in my old pensión de confluencia with the zone leaders. Everyone here goes to the stake center, that is almost the only option to watch it live. You can´t watch it on TV or the Radio, internet sí, pero they have a tradition to all go to the stake center to watch it live. All of the American missionaries always go upstaires to watch it where they put it on in English, and there we had a good time. The preisthood session I watched in Spanish early sunday morning, because I wanted to be with my companion, but I like to hear the vocies of the general authorities. Some speak spanish and do their own translating, like E. Scott and Christofferson, so that the people can hear their voices. It was a great spiritual boost like Grandma Susan always says.
What I will say next I hope will not come as a shock, as it must yet be familiar to hear. I am again being transfered... (don, don, don, sound effects). I am now going to Centenario, which is another small town on the other side of Neuquen. This is not normal, and a hard change. Transfers are comparable to death and rebirth. Saturday night you are informed of your prospective death in your respective area of service and rebirth in a new one the following monday, as all is started over, getting to know your companion, the area, the members, the investigators, the apartment, new groceries. It is hard to leave all that you have worked so hard for, for the past 6 weeks and leave it in the hands of the next Elder. Elder Alarcon my Chilean will be training now, and I will be companions with Elder something with a G. He is Argentine, which means that in the last four transfers I have had four companions, all latinos, and all from different countries.
Wow I didn´t think that my birthday was so soon. Thanks for the reminder. I don´t think much will happen I am going to have a new companion, and he dosn´t know about it. So... yeah. Thank you for the sweet note, and the things that you have sent. I am shure they will be great. I havn´t seen them yet, but thank you for all of the letters and everything that you have done so far for me. Grandma Sherry and Grandpa and Grandma Biggs thank you all for the sweet things that you have sent me. It is wonderful to be remembered on the bottom of the world (haha don´t tell the Argys I said that).
DeWitt I just saw a picture of your Eagle court of honor, congradulations, you did it, and question why are your arms so big? Today for p-day I am going to try and say good bye to all the people I can and take a few picture, because I have casi no photos en Cipolletti.
I love you all, but I must go. Until the next time when two of my decades have passed.
Love the beloved Elder Dallin Evans
Querido Presidente Petterson
