March Madness 2012

Polly had a half day today.  When she got home she said to me, "OK  we are going to play games, have activities and have lots of fun!"  Whew, "OK", I said, lets do it.  Now really I should have a picture represented here, because Polly told me the game and I played exactly how she explained it, I didn't try to tell her any different rules like dad and DeWitt both did.  We just played and we had a super great time, and we laughed and laughed.  Polly poured pop into each cup and then you had to bounce the ping pong ball into 1 and when you made it you got to drink the pop.  The next game was to toss skittles in the air and catch it in your mouth.  We played a few more and had so much fun that we wanted to share it with the boys, and when they were done we lost all of our enthusiasm and so we watched a movie!!!  Love half days!

Polly telling dad the rules, which he changed just like DeWitt.  Argh!!!!!  Men!!!!!!

Both the boys got into it and played and all was well!

This is an after picture of a very nice lunch that Scott and I prepared for DeWitt and Whitney Larson.  He was asking her to prom.  So Scott and I were getting everything ready, but didn't want to take anything out too soon.  We were trying to time it just right.  So Scott went out and cleaned the table and counters, and we set the table real quick, and then as we were bringing out the food we noticed that DeWitt and Whitney were coming so Scott took off in a sprint, and I was right behind him.  The plan was to have it all set up and waiting and the parents nowhere to be found, so that's just what we did.  Whew, it was quick and fun.  DeWitt had taken his i-Pod dock out there and so he turned on the music and danced with Whitney, then they ate lunch, and then he had this cake that said, "PROM WITH ----->" and then this arrow that pointed to him.  It was cute.  Whitney was very impressed and DeWitt was so very appreciative.  Scott and I had so much fun.

These two seem to be hanging out together a lot lately.  Whitney had this great idea to tape crayons to a board and then blow them with a hot air dryer to make a very cool picture, and to get wax all over my kitchen.  They did clean it up.  Love their aprons

Conference Sunday morning session.  We like to have a puzzle to work on to keep us awake.  Scott made Polly this board to carry around.  When Polly poured out the pieces it looked like an impossible task.  She worked on it a lone for a bit, and then DeWitt went down to help her, and then Scott couldn't resist.  He saw a challenge and couldn't deny his itch to conquer it.  Lillian and I both had a hand in helping a little bit.

Scott ended up being very dedicated to working on this puzzle.  Even when everybody else took a break, he stuck with it.  There is not a project that he cannot tackle!!!

The puzzle that night with Patrick Eady helping.

I have been missing my two kids so desperately lately!!!!  I was able to soothe the ache by skype talking with Allison.  It was so very therapeutic!

We laughed and talked, and did movie lines.  DeWitt even started to pinch Allison's cheeks and scratch her nose, and Allison responded with the appropriate movements.  So funny.  They even shared crackers and cookies back and forth.  I would love it so much if Dallin could skype home!!!!  Oh man Oh man I love my family so much!!!

We spent a good hour talking with Allison, she probably had to stay up extra late to finish her homework that she was in the library doing!  Oh well, I think we all needed this!!

Allison doin her thang at Dixie State College.  She has had an incredible season, and has been able to meet and hang with very incredible people.  Her team has been so good to her.  They are all such nice girls, and the coach is wonderful.
The Fall ITA rankings are out and the Dixie State College women's tennis team finished their fall segment ranked 9th in the West Region. The West Region which has historically dominated D2 women's tennis, has five of the top 25 teams in nation.

The Red Storm's Allison Evans (Safford, AZ/Safford ) is ranked 19th in the region for singles and the doubles pair of Krista Anderson (Saint George, UT/Desert Hills) and Sarah Hughes (Bountiful, UT/Woods Cross HS) are ranked 10th in the region.

Coach Eric Pelton said, "We had a great fall and I'm proud of the progress that our team and the ladies are making. I look forward to our spring season."
