Elder Evans' Serve Together!!!! June 6, 2013

Tender Mercies Abound For the Evans Family
June 6, 2013
I wonder sometimes at the blessings that are so freely given to us!!  I Know now more than ever that the things that are important to us, God's Children, are important to Him.  As soon as DeWitt read his mission call and saw that it was to Argentina, he, Dallin and the rest of the family started to pray that these two brothers, "best friends" would somehow be able to see each other.  Time drew close and DeWitt was entering the MTC.  Dallin asked his Mission President if he could somehow see his brother before leaving the country.  President Lovell always kindly, and lovingly told him "NO"  When the day came for DeWitt to leave the MTC he found out that he would have to "Visa Wait" in the Nevada Las Vegas Mission.  We thought that was nice and all, but wow a little close to home.  DeWitt started to serve there in March.  DeWitt's patience has been tested over the course of a year.  His departure date to the MTC was longer than he expected.  His original MTC entry date was postponed and now he is Visa Waiting.  Days, weeks, and months went by with no word on his visa.  DeWitt was deciding that Las Vegas was his mission.  He loved it.  He has been working with a wonderful companion, Elder Bishop, and he has met lots of great people, and he has been able to teach and even had a baptism of Kesha on June 8th.  June 1st we were all excited for Dallin to come home on June 5th.  DeWitt and I were chatting on the e-mail for his p-day.  He said that he wanted us to come to Las Vegas to see him. But first he needed to call his mission President to ask if it would be OK. He made the call while I was on the computer.  He wrote back to me.  "President.....said that all of us could come and we could have an hour and a 1/2 to visit."  He also told DeWitt that he was wearing black because he was in mourning.  DeWitt asked why.  He said, "because your VISA came in and you'll be leaving on June 17, 2013."  We were both shocked and overcome with emotion, and immediately, grateful to the Lord for hearing our prayers.  The Lord knows His Mission Presidents, and He knows which ones will say yes and which ones will say no.  It's OK both ways, but now I know why DeWitt stayed in Las Vegas for so long.  We called 2 hours before we got to DeWitt, and Dallin asked if maybe he could serve with DeWitt for the afternoon.  He is still a missionary after all.  DeWitt made another call to his President and again he said, YES!! This is an unbelievable experience.  One that doesn't just happen.  I recognize the Lord's hand in this completely.  These boys have been so close growing up and 3 3/4 years is a long time without seeing each other.  I love Missionary Work and I love the Gospel, and I love the Lord for blessing this family so completely!!!

We took Dallin shopping the first day that he came home, and he wanted to get matching ties for he and DeWitt.  So these are they.  DeWitt was in a hurry and tied it short, but it's OK.  They have had matching ties before and it's just a symbol of their closeness and love
